Under 2 weeks to go!

July 17th, 2011

On a different note it is now under 2 weeks until our holiday.
13 days to be precise.

The weather has been horrific this weekend so far so I really hope it clears up for Cornwall!

I told Halys that I would like to go back to France next year. Maybe to the Vendee again, but Halys said "I thought we were going to Stu's?"
Stu has a small campsite in the Loire which is a great base for exploring the plethera of Chateaux in the Loire. It does mean that we will have to save like mad. Although the campsite is not expensive getting into all the chateau is, as they don't have an organisation like our National Trust which is a shame as considering the concentration of Chatueau in the area it would be worth the £90 which we pay for the National Trust membership a year to get free entry them all. I'm going to have to investigate that further.

Proud Moments @ Saturday Night Gig

July 17th, 2011

I did a gig last night with Swingin Affair Big Band to raise funds for Francis House Children's Hospice. We raised £500 last night and some more from an earlier concert at Didsbury Baptist Church which will be put together and given to Francis House soon.

The proud moment came when our daughter Harriet won the raffle and chose a 12 year old bottle of Malt Whiskey.

Well done Harriet!!!

Long day/wasted day?

July 13th, 2011

Started work at 5.30am went all the way to Hull to find that the yard I went to didn't want the pallets I had brought.... So instead of bringing back the 400 odd that I should have I brought back I could only bring 250 back. Turned into an expensive day out.

Now I've got control of the remote....LOL Harriet has had a hard day, and has gone to bed.... What a lightweight. She did an early shift..... well by early I mean 9am start OK OK 8:45am until 2pm ish. What a part timer......
My wife has gone out for dinner with her partner in crime Linda.

Tesco Clubcard Vouchers

July 10th, 2011

Don't you just love Tesco Clubcard Vouchers?

We have used them a few times now. Last year we bought a return Eurotunnel Crossing for our holiday in the Vendee, we also bought  a day entry to Futuroscope the French theme park.

This year I booked our October Eurotunnel crossing with them and now I have just booked tickets to Labyrinth at the Eden Project next month.

Step into the Labyrinth – a beautifully surreal place where performers move among you, and daring displays take place above you. This exhilarating new show by the award-winning NoFit State Circus will be performed exclusively at Eden over the summer holidays (29 Jul – 29 Aug).
  • Labyrinth will feature aerial acrobatics, traditional circus skills, live music and dance.
  • It will take place right across the Eden site and culminate in an incredible finale inside our very own 'big top'.
  • Labyrinth has been created to celebrate Eden's 10th birthday, and complement Eden’s unique setting.
  • This amazing night out is suitable for the whole family – kids will love it.
  • There are no 'best seats'; the show is promenade style, so the view will be terrific everywhere.
  • The world-class performers are highly skilled on equipment such as the swinging trapeze, flying trapeze, cradle, strops, hula hoops, tightwire, Chinese pole and German wheel, to name but a few! From the Eden Project Website
